CM Omar Abdullah Flags Off J&K RTC Bus Services to Major Religious Sites Across India
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 03, 2026 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah officially inaugurated a new fleet of J&K Road Transport Corporation (RTC) buses from MA Stadium, Jammu, specifically dedicated to connecting devotees with major religious destinations across the country.
Accompanied by Transport Minister Satish Sharma, Advisor Nasir Aslam, and RTC Managing Director Abdul Rashid War, the Chief Minister flagged off services that will transport pilgrims to prominent sites including Shahdra Sharief, Jawalaji, Namgyal Monastery in McLeod Ganj, Shri Anandpur Sahib, Ajmer Sharief, and Our Lady of Graces in Sardhana.
Highlighting the region’s rich legacy of pluralism, Omar Abdullah stated that these affordable bus services reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening the bonds of mutual respect and unity among different faiths.
He praised the Transport Department for enhancing inter-state connectivity and spiritual well-being, while Minister Satish Sharma assured that J&K RTC remains dedicated to providing safe and reliable transport, with plans to further expand services based on public demand to better serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
