CM Omar Abdullah Fast-tracks Construction of New High Court Complexes in Jammu and Kashmir
JAMMU, APRIL 07: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently led a high-level review meeting to accelerate the construction of the new Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court complexes in both Srinagar and Jammu, emphasizing the critical need for modern judicial infrastructure.
During the session, the Chief Minister directed executing agencies and departmental heads to ensure time-bound completion through enhanced inter-departmental coordination, specifically calling for the immediate administrative approval of the Jammu wing at Raika.
This ambitious project, managed by the National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd (NBCC), involves transitioning the current Janipur High Court to a state-of-the-art campus featuring digital-enabled courtrooms, judges’ chambers, and expanded litigant facilities.
Beyond the High Court wings, the Chief Minister also reviewed modernization plans for the Lower Court Complex in Srinagar, reiterating that robust, transparently executed infrastructure is essential for efficient justice delivery and maintaining public trust in the legal system.
