CISF Unit NTPC Koldam Conducts Multi-Agency Mock Drill to Bolster Disaster Preparedness and Response

KOLDAM, March 17, 2026 — In a proactive move toward enhancing regional safety, a comprehensive multi-agency disaster management mock drill was successfully executed at the CISF Unit NTPC Koldam today.

Centered on a high-stakes cloudburst and flash flood scenario, the exercise brought together an elite response group including personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), NTPC Management, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

The simulation was further supported by local police and specialized medical teams, creating a realistic environment to test the efficiency of synchronized rescue operations in the face of sudden natural calamities.

The primary objective of the drill, themed “Training Today for a Safer Tomorrow,” was to rigorously evaluate the swiftness of emergency response times and the seamlessness of inter-agency coordination.

By simulating the chaotic conditions of a flood, the participating units were able to identify potential communication gaps and refine their relief strategies to ensure maximum life-saving effectiveness.

This joint initiative underscores the commitment of the CISF and its partners to maintaining a state of constant readiness, ensuring that both the critical infrastructure of the NTPC Koldam project and the surrounding communities remain protected through well-rehearsed, professional disaster mitigation protocols.
