CISF Heroism at Imphal Airport: Swift CPR and Medical Action Saves Passenger’s Life
IMPHAL, April 5, 2026 — A life-saving intervention by security personnel and a fellow passenger turned a medical emergency into a story of survival at Imphal Airport yesterday.
At approximately 0740 hours on April 4, 2026, Suresh Kumar, an Inspector with the 158 Bn Manipur traveling to Delhi via Air India Express, suddenly collapsed in the check-in area after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, on-duty CISF Inspector K. Bikendra immediately rushed to the scene, alerted the airport medical team, and began administering life-saving CPR to the unresponsive passenger.
The rescue effort was bolstered by the timely presence of Ph. Kiron, Commandant (Medical), CRPF, who was traveling as a co-passenger and took over the resuscitation efforts.
Thanks to their combined professionalism and rapid response, the passenger regained consciousness and was promptly evacuated to a nearby hospital via an airport ambulance. Latest reports confirm that the passenger is now in stable condition.
