CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan Audits Security and Operational Readiness at NRL Numaligarh
NUMALIGARH, February 5, 2026 — Praveer Ranjan, Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), conducted a comprehensive high-level review of the CISF Unit at Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) today.
Accompanied by Binita Thakur (ADG North), Vinod Kumar Chaurasia (DIG NEZ), and Sudhir Kumar (DIG FHQrs), the Director General inspected the refinery’s security infrastructure and evaluated the unit’s manpower management and training protocols.
The visit focused on aligning the force’s operational preparedness with contemporary threat perceptions facing critical national infrastructure.During the visit, Praveer Ranjan engaged in strategic discussions with the NRL management team, led by Director Technical Girish Kumar Borah, to ensure seamless coordination between security personnel and refinery operations.
Addressing the troops at a Sainik Sammelan, the DG underscored the importance of unwavering discipline, strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the promotion of women’s empowerment within the ranks. He specifically called for intensified training modules to combat emerging challenges, including aerial threats (drones), cyber security vulnerabilities, and disaster management. Expressing full confidence in the personnel at NRL Numaligarh, the DG commended their professionalism and commitment to safeguarding one of Northeast India’s most vital industrial assets.
