CISF Boosts Bhopal Airport Security: New State-of-the-Art K9 Unit Kennels Inaugurated for Aviation Safety

BHOPAL, February 24, 2026 — In a strategic move to strengthen aviation security, two newly constructed kennels were inaugurated today for the CISF K9 Unit at the Aviation Security Group (ASG) facility at Bhopal Airport.

The inauguration was led by Airport Director Ramjee Awasthi and Commandant/CASO Atul Bhanotra, alongside senior officials from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

These modern facilities have been specifically designed to ensure high standards of hygiene, proper veterinary care, and comfortable accommodation for the K9 team, which plays a critical role in explosive detection and perimeter security.

By providing an improved environment for the dogs, the new infrastructure significantly enhances the operational readiness and efficiency of the Dog Squad, ensuring the K9s remain in peak condition to safeguard passengers and airport infrastructure.

This development underscores the CISF’s ongoing commitment to integrating specialized units with better resources to counter evolving security threats at major airports.
