CIK Srinagar Conducts Multi-Location Raids in Shopian Linked to UAPA Investigation

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) carried out a series of coordinated raids today across multiple locations in the Shopian district in connection with an ongoing high-profile investigation.

The operations were conducted under the stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), specifically tied to Case FIR No. 01/2026 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar.

These searches targeted the residences of individuals closely associated with Irfan Ahmad Wani, a resident of Heerpora who was previously apprehended by the CIK on February 27, 2026.

The multi-pronged operation was executed by dedicated teams under high-level supervision to ensure thoroughness and security.

A team led by DySP Farooq Ahmad searched the residence of Irfan Bashir Wani in Hurpora, while another wing, supervised by Inspector Hilal Madani, conducted a search at the home of Nafee Ahmad Wani, the brother of the accused.

Simultaneously, a third raid was carried out at the residence of Irfan’s father-in-law, Farooq Ahmad Shah, in Memender under the direction of DySP Showkat Abdullah.

While the specific outcomes of these searches are still being processed, the raids underscore the intensifying probe into the network surrounding the original arrest under sections 13, 17, 18, 20, 38, and 39 of the UA(P) Act.
