Kathua 17th August :- The Office of the Chief Minister, Jammu & Kashmir, shared on X that Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah has expressed deep concern over the loss of lives and property due to the recent cloudburst in Kathua.
As an immediate relief, the CM has declared ex-gratia help from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund along with State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) support. The relief package amounts to ₹2 lakh for the dead, ₹1 lakh for the seriously injured, and ₹50,000 for minor injuries. For the houses that are damaged, ₹1 lakh will be given for fully destroyed houses, ₹50,000 for serious damage, and ₹25,000 for partial damage.
The aid is designed to assist the affected families to restore and rebuild their lives following the tragedy.
