JAMMU, DECEMBER 20: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, and IT, Satish Sharma, addressed the Special National Conclave ‘Celebration of Life 2025’ today at the Police Auditorium. Organized by the Federation of Indian Blood Donors Organisations (FIBDO), Jammu & Kashmir Chapter, the event marked 15 years of the federation’s service in strengthening India’s lifesaving healthcare ecosystem.
Lauding voluntary donors as “unsung heroes” who transcend all social barriers to save lives, the Minister emphasized that blood donation is the ultimate expression of collective humanity and social responsibility. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to modernizing healthcare infrastructure and fostering a culture of voluntary donation among the youth, which aligns with the administration’s broader vision of inclusive, people-centric governance.
During the conclave, Minister Sharma commended FIBDO’s advocacy for national reforms, specifically highlighting the #FIBDO Demands Blood Act campaign aimed at ensuring transparency and efficiency in transfusion services. He called upon educational institutions, sports bodies, and civil society groups to collaborate on massive donation drives, noting that Jammu and Kashmir is rapidly becoming a hub for youth-led social initiatives.
The event concluded with the Minister felicitating outstanding donors and organizations from across the country, celebrating their tireless efforts to ensure that no life is lost due to the unavailability of blood.
