CBI Srinagar Issues Anti-Corruption Warning: Helpline Launched to Report Bribery

SRINAGAR, February 1, 2026 — The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) in Srinagar issued a stern public advisory on Sunday, emphasizing that both the solicitation and offering of bribes are serious criminal offenses punishable by law.

In an effort to sanitize government offices of corrupt practices, the agency declared that any public servant found demanding illegal gratification for official tasks will face immediate and rigorous legal consequences.

The CBI urged citizens to resist corrupt demands and actively participate in maintaining transparency within the administration.To facilitate swift reporting, the ACB has established a dedicated communication channel for the public. Citizens are encouraged to bypass middlemen and report any instances of corruption directly to the authorities.

Complaints against government employees can be lodged via the CBI-ACB Srinagar helpline at 9419900977. This initiative is part of a broader crackdown on administrative malpractice, ensuring that government services remain accessible without the interference of illegal financial demands.
