“Dr.Jitendra Singh Ensures Accurate District-Wise Weather Warnings for J&K”
New Delhi 04 September :- Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh Held a video meeting with Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar and Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban.
Announced that the Govt of India will install additional equipments including four additional Weather Radars under “Mission Mausam” in J&K, for more accurate, district wise, specific weather forecasts and early warnings.
Three such radars are already operational in J&K.In addition to the Regional IMD (India Meteorological Department) Centre at Srinagar which is over 100 years old, a new Regional IMD Centre will be set up at Jammu.Ensured Rations, Water Filters, Medical Kits and extra relief from MP’s personal resources, apart from government relief measures.
Appreciated relentless efforts by the administration, informed that I am in constant touch with the district administrations of Kathua, Udhampur, Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban, and personally talking to each of the DCs once or more than once in a day.Each of the Deputy Commissioners is free to call me up directly on my personal mobile at any hour, day or night, without caring for the so called niceties of Protocol.
PM Narendra Modi closely monitoring the situation; Centre’s Inter-Ministerial Team has begun its assessment visits to different districts from today.
