Budget Session 2026: DPR Prepared for ₹40.34 Crore Baba Reshi-Gulmarg Road Project, Says Deputy CM
JAMMU, Feb 05, 2026 – During the ongoing Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary announced that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the strategically important Baba Reshi-Gulmarg Road has been finalized.
Responding to a query during Question Hour raised by Legislator Irfan Hafiz Lone, the Deputy CM disclosed that the project is estimated to cost ₹40.34 crore and is currently undergoing a formal review and examination process.
This road project is expected to significantly improve connectivity to one of the region’s most prominent tourist and spiritual hubs.In addition to the Gulmarg connectivity update, the Deputy Chief Minister informed the House that the estimation process for the balance work on the Dandmouh-Setrisem-Nagbal road is also underway.
This phase includes essential up-gradation and macadamization to ensure the road’s completion. However, he clarified that the commencement of physical work on these projects will be contingent upon the availability of financial resources and will be executed under the appropriate administrative heads once approved.
