BSF Director General Reviews Strategic Border Preparedness in Jodhpur and Jaisalmer
JODHPUR/JAISALMER, RAJASTHAN — From March 5 to March 7, 2026, the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Praveen Kumar, IPS, conducted a comprehensive operational review during his high-profile visit to the Rajasthan Frontier.
The visit commenced at the Frontier Headquarters, where the DG received a detailed briefing on the current security landscape and the force’s operational preparedness along the sensitive international border.
During his stay in Jodhpur, DG Praveen Kumar visited the Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) to assess the rigors of current training standards.
He emphasized the need for evolving training methodologies to meet future security challenges and took a specialized interest in the BSF Camel Contingent, reviewing their unique role and performance in desert operations.
The camel units remain a cornerstone of the BSF’s identity and tactical capability in the region’s challenging topography.The visit culminated in a field inspection of forward Border Out Posts (BOPs) situated amidst the shifting sand dunes of the Thar Desert in Jaisalmer.
Interacting directly with the Seema Praharies (Border Guards) stationed at the frontline, the Director General scrutinized ground deployment strategies and logistical readiness.
This visit reaffirmed the BSF’s unwavering commitment to vigilant border management and the high morale of the personnel serving in one of the world’s most demanding environments.
