Border Security Boost: ADG SSB Rekha Lohani Reviews Indo-Nepal Border Preparedness in Sitamarhi
SITAMARHI, March 18, 2026 — Strengthening the security grid along the sensitive Indo-Nepal border, Rekha Lohani, Additional Director General (ADG) of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), conducted a comprehensive operational review at the Bhittamore Company Headquarters under the 51st Battalion.
During her high-profile visit to the Sitamarhi-II sector, the ADG meticulously inspected the campus infrastructure and evaluated the prevailing security arrangements to ensure foolproof border management.
Engaging directly with field commanders and senior officers, she assessed the force’s operational readiness and tactical deployment strategies aimed at curbing cross-border smuggling and illegal infiltration.
A key highlight of the visit was a specialized Sainik Sammelan, where ADG Lohani addressed the gathered officers and jawans, urging them to remain steadfast in upholding the SSB’s core values of service and security.
Demonstrating a welfare-centric approach, she personally interacted with the personnel to listen to their grievances and motivated them to maintain high morale while serving in challenging border conditions.
The ADG also visited the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Bhittamore, where she reviewed the functioning of the Border Interaction Team (BIT) and emphasized the importance of professional conduct during public dealings at the international gateway.
In a move to bolster bilateral security cooperation, Lohani held a strategic coordination meeting with officers from the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal. These discussions focused on enhancing real-time information sharing, cross-border synergy, and joint efforts to maintain peace along the “open border” between the two nations.
The visit underscores the SSB’s proactive stance in modernizing border infrastructure and maintaining a robust, technology-driven surveillance network to safeguard India’s territorial integrity while fostering friendly ties with neighboring security forces.
