Border Roads Organisation’s Project Sewak Celebrates 66th Raising Day, Honoring Decades of Strategic Infrastructure Excellence
DIMAPUR, Feb 16, 2026 — Marking a historic milestone in India’s mission for robust frontier connectivity, Project Sewak of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) officially celebrated its 66th Raising Day today.
Established in 1961 and headquartered in Dimapur, the project has dedicated over six decades to the critical development of Nagaland and Manipur.
By constructing and maintaining a sophisticated network of roads and bridges, Project Sewak has been instrumental in strengthening strategic connectivity along the Indo-Myanmar border, directly enhancing the operational preparedness of India’s security forces while simultaneously fostering rapid socio-economic growth across the Northeast.
In alignment with the BRO’s core motto, “Shramena Sarvam Sadhyam” (Everything is achievable through hard work), the project continues to push the boundaries of engineering in some of the country’s most challenging terrains. From remote village access to high-priority strategic corridors, the relentless efforts of the Project Sewak team have bridged the gap between isolated border communities and the national mainstream.
As it enters its 67th year, the organization reaffirms its unwavering commitment to building resilient infrastructure that serves as the backbone of nation-building and regional stability in the North East.
