BJP’s Ashok Koul Honors Swadeshi Mela Participants and Reviews Party Preparedness in Srinagar
SRINAGAR, January 08, 2026: In a significant move to bolster the “Vocal for Local” movement, J&K BJP General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul felicitated the participants of the recently concluded “Swadeshi Mela” at the party’s District Office in Srinagar.
Accompanied by State General Secretary Anwar Khan, State Secretary Arif Raja, and District President Advocate Sheikh Salman, Koul presented honors to local artisans and entrepreneurs who showcased traditional products and indigenous crafts.
He emphasized that promoting local manufacturing is a central pillar of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for an “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India). Koul noted that supporting grassroots talent in Jammu & Kashmir is both an economic necessity and a social responsibility, as it preserves heritage while generating sustainable employment for the youth and small-scale producers.
Following the felicitation ceremony, the senior leadership transitioned into a comprehensive organizational review meeting with Srinagar’s district and constituency presidents.
Ashok Koul evaluated the party’s recent performance and laid out a strategic roadmap for upcoming outreach programs, stressing the importance of disciplined cadre-building and regular booth-level engagement.
He urged party workers to maintain a strong ground-level presence to ensure that public welfare schemes effectively reach every household.
Complementing this, Anwar Khan called on party functionaries to remain deeply connected with the local population, proactively addressing their grievances while highlighting the achievements and developmental policies of the BJP-led government to strengthen the party’s foothold in the region.
