BJP Spokesperson Slams Abdul Basit’s Threats; Warns Pakistan of Overwhelming Retaliation

Jammu March 22, 2026: BJP spokesperson and Convenor of International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta, has issued a scathing condemnation of former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit following his recent provocative remarks threatening major Indian cities like New Delhi and Mumbai.

Describing the statements as “insane and desperate,” Gupta asserted that such rhetoric is clear evidence of a nation consumed by an unhealthy obsession with India while failing at basic statecraft. He characterized Pakistan as a “beggar nation” that is currently grappling with internal instability and financial weakness, suggesting that Basit’s fantasies of striking India are merely a distraction from his country’s own failures.

“Pakistan remains incapable of responsible conduct,” Gupta remarked, dismissing the diplomat’s threats as hollow boasts from a frustrated leadership.Emphasizing India’s military superiority and readiness, Gupta warned that any provocation would invite a response so severe it would “shock anyone who underestimates India’s strength.”

He noted that India’s modern and lethal armed forces, supported by a calibrated strategic and tactical arsenal, are fully prepared for precision strikes and rapid mobilization. Recalling recent decisive operations, he reminded the Pakistani leadership that India no longer tolerates threats to its sovereignty and prefers peace only from a position of absolute strength.

Gupta concluded with a stark message, stating that any misadventure against Indian soil would result in immediate and overwhelming annihilation of the aggression, teaching Pakistan a lesson it would never forget.
