JAMMU, December 22, 2025 — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a stinging counter-attack against National Conference vice-president and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today, accusing him of mocking religious faith and merit-based governance.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, BJP spokesperson Dr. Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia criticized the Chief Minister’s recent remarks regarding “G RAM G,” questioning his selective memory concerning his own family’s history. Jasrotia pointedly reminded Omar Abdullah that his father, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, has publicly sung Shree Ram Bhajans on numerous occasions, asserting that devotion transcends political ideologies and should not be ridiculed for political gain.
Defending the significance of the “G RAM G” initiative, Dr. Jasrotia stated that the acronym signifies a commitment to both faith and public welfare. He argued that if Mahatma Gandhi were alive today, he would support initiatives that combine the name of Shree Ram with schemes ensuring the dignity of labor and food security for the weakest sections of society.
Furthermore, the BJP spokesperson cautioned the Congress party against its perceived “enmity” toward Shree Ram, suggesting that mocking India’s ancient cultural legacy exposes intolerance and has left the party struggling for its own political existence.
Turning to administrative reforms, Dr. Jasrotia declared that the era of “dynasty-driven governance”—which he characterized as “beta-baap” and “mamu-bhanja” governments—is officially over in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the current system has dismantled long-standing nepotism, replacing it with merit, transparency, and eligibility.
According to the BJP, jobs are no longer distributed based on political loyalty or family proximity, but are reserved for those who truly deserve them. Jasrotia concluded by stating that the National Conference’s discomfort stems from a new era of accountability where privilege no longer dictates public employment.
