BJP Slams NC and PDP Silence Over Bangladesh Minority Killings; Manzoor Bhat Compares Crisis to 1990 Kashmir
SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir Spokesperson Manzoor Bhat has expressed profound anguish over the escalating violence and targeted killings of minorities in Bangladesh, drawing a chilling parallel to the 1990 Kashmiri Pandit genocide.
Addressing the media, Bhat questioned why regional leaders such as Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti—who frequently lecture on secularism regarding domestic issues—remain conspicuously silent as Hindus and other minorities face lynchings and forced displacement. He described the current crisis as a “planned conspiracy” to ethnically cleanse the land, noting that the haunting visuals from Bangladesh serve as a reminder that the mentality of extremists remains unchanged despite it being 2025.
Bhat further reminded these leaders that Islamic teachings advocate for the protection of the weak, arguing that their current “mouth-locked policy” proves their sympathy is selective and driven purely by vote-bank politics. Calling for global intervention and decisive action from the Government of India, the BJP spokesperson emphasized that while India remains a natural home for the persecuted, the international community must hold perpetrators accountable to ensure no one is forced to abandon their ancestral homes due to fear.
