BJP Reviews Progress of VB-GRAM G Initiative to Drive Rural Transformation in J&K
JAMMU, January 08, 2026: The Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by State President and Member of Parliament Sat Sharma (CA) along with General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, convened a high-level meeting at the party’s Trikuta Nagar headquarters to review the outreach of the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), or VB-GRAM G.
Aimed at transforming the rural landscape of the Union Territory, the meeting focused on assessing how effectively the awareness campaigns are reaching the grassroots level. Sat Sharma emphasized that VB-GRAM G is a cornerstone of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India, placing villages at the heart of national progress by enhancing infrastructure and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities.
He highlighted that recent improvements under the mission have specifically targeted skill development for rural youth and women, ensuring that the rural economy becomes a self-sustaining engine of growth.
During the deliberations, Ashok Koul and General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria stressed the importance of sustained public engagement to ensure the mission’s success.
The leadership evaluated the impact of various awareness activities, including press conferences and community outreach programs designed to educate residents about the specific welfare benefits available under VB-GRAM G. The party reaffirmed its commitment to building “future-ready” villages that blend modern requirements with local strengths, urging workers to intensify their efforts across all districts.
By prioritizing grassroots planning and the proactive delivery of welfare schemes, the BJP intends to ensure that the mission leads to holistic development and a significant rise in the standard of living for the rural population of Jammu & Kashmir.
