BJP Leaders Inspect Restoration of Paloura Pond; Promise Modern Recreational Space for Jammu North

JAMMU, January 15, 2026: In a major push toward urban renewal and environmental preservation, J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma (CA), accompanied by Jammu North MLA Sham Lal Sharma, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the pond development project in Ward 59, Paloura. The visit focused on reviewing the ongoing beautification and restoration efforts aimed at transforming the site into a public asset.

Accompanied by a large delegation of local leaders and party officials, the leaders emphasized that this project fulfills a long-standing demand of the residents and represents a significant victory against land grabbing in the region.

During the inspection, Sat Sharma revealed that the site was previously under illegal encroachment, which was successfully cleared through timely intervention by the Jammu Development Authority (JDA).

He detailed plans to develop the area with professional landscaping, a dedicated playground, and open recreational spaces designed specifically for children and local youth.

Aligning the project with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of sustainable urban infrastructure, the MP assured the community that the BJP would closely monitor the construction to ensure high quality and timely completion.

MLA Sham Lal Sharma echoed these sentiments, stating that restoring community assets is a top priority for the party. He highlighted that the project would balance ecological restoration with public utility, providing a much-needed green lung for the Paloura neighborhood.
