BJP Celebrates 47th Foundation Day with Veteran Outreach and Public Welfare Initiatives in Jammu
JAMMU, April 8, 2026 — Marking the 47th Foundation Day of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Jammu & Kashmir unit organized an extensive series of outreach programs emphasizing political commitment and social responsibility.
Led by J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma, alongside General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, senior leaders visited the residences of party veterans from the BJP, Jana Sangh, and Praja Parishad.
These visits were designed to honor the lifelong dedication of senior members who laid the party’s ideological foundation. During the events, Sat Sharma visited centenarian Chanchala Devi, Mohan Lal Gill, and Mohan Lal Gupta, expressing deep gratitude for their unwavering commitment to nationalist ideals and noting that the party’s strength is rooted in the sacrifices of its veteran workers.
Simultaneously, Ashok Koul spearheaded the “Gaon Chalo” and “Basti Chalo” Abhiyan initiatives to strengthen the party’s connection with the grassroots. Koul visited the homes of veterans Sham Lal Sharma and Mukund Lal Sharma in Paloura and later joined MLA Jammu East Yudhvir Sethi and District President Rajesh Gupta to felicitate senior citizens and government scheme beneficiaries at Jain Sabha and Kali Janni Basti.
These programs served as a platform to reiterate the party’s core philosophy of “Seva, Samarpan, and Garib Kalyan,” ensuring that welfare initiatives are effectively reaching the last person in society.The Foundation Day celebrations blended an appreciation for the party’s legacy with a forward-looking commitment to public service.
Sat Sharma emphasized that the occasion is a moment of reflection and a reminder of the BJP’s goal to build a strong, self-reliant India.
