Rajouri, January 14, 2026 — On the occasion of the 10th Armed Forces Veterans Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid a heartfelt tribute to ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and their families during a commemorative event at ALG Rajouri.

Addressing a massive gathering, the Lieutenant Governor described veterans as the “embodiment of living history” whose invisible sacrifices have shaped the destiny of the nation. He emphasized that the service of the armed forces is not merely a job but a lifelong commitment that persists even after the uniform is folded away.

Highlighting their role as the backbone of national security, he noted that while the nation sleeps in peace or celebrates festivals, soldiers remain alert at distant borders, living the reality of sacrifice every single moment.

To mark the day, the Lieutenant Governor inaugurated a “Wall of Fame” and launched a dedicated police helpline service designed to provide immediate assistance and grievance redressal for the veteran community.

He reiterated the government’s resolve to build a life of dignity for those who have served, pledging that the well-being of veterans’ families remains a top priority.

During the ceremony, homage was paid to Field Marshal K.M. Cariappa, Second Lieutenant Ram Raghoba Rane, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, and other legendary bravehearts.

The event also featured a mega Ex-Servicemen Rally where motorized wheelchairs and retrofitted scooties were distributed to specially-abled veterans.

Senior military and civil officials, including Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma and local legislators, joined the citizens of Rajouri in honoring the timeless values and selfless service of the Indian Army.
