Best out of Waste competition held at GCW Udhampur
UDHAMPUR SEPTEMBER 18,2025: To create awareness among students relatedto environment and sustainability, the Department of Zoology and EcoClub Government College for Women (GCW), Udhampur under the aegis of Vikasit Bharat@2047 organized Best Out of Waste Competition on thetheme “Waste to Eco Craft Challenge” here in the college campus today.The program was organized under the patronage of Principal Dr. Nalini Pathania.
The objective of the competition was to spark the thought among thestudents regarding recycling and upcycling of waste materials therebyfostering creativity and environmental awareness.The competition was conducted by team comprising of Prof. RewaLakhnotra , Dr Neha Anthal and Dr. Anita Kumari.Total of 26 students participated in the competition and they preparedvarious craft items from the waste material like plastic, beads,newspaper, cardboard, sticks, threads, E-waste etc.
The competition was judged by Prof. Rachna Bharti, Prof. Swati Duttand Prof. Pooja Bharti. Anku Devi and Sonali Devi bagged firstposition jointly, Prashi Devi got second position and Priya and MansiDevi shared third position respectively.
