Bear Mauls Couple in JK’s Udhampur Village

Udhampur 05 September:- Husband and wife were left with serious injuries after a brutal bear attack in the remote Prei(प्रेई) village of Panchari, in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.

The attack left the couple gravely wounded, and with no immediate medical aid available in the village, locals swiftly intervened. They provided initial assistance and helped transport the injured duo towards the nearest motorable road.

An ambulance was summoned and managed to reach the closest accessible point.However, the rescue was severely hampered by the aftermath of recent heavy rainfall. Flash floods and landslides have damaged and washed away many roads in the area, making vehicular access to the village impossible.

Injured Couple identified as Kaka Ram and his wife Pooja Devi from village In a remarkable display of community solidarity, the villagers carried the injured husband and wife on foot across the treacherous, damaged terrain to the waiting ambulance.

From there, they were rushed to the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College (GMC) in Udhampur for urgent medical treatment.
