Baramulla Police Avert Threat as Rusted Grenade Recovered and Defused in Sheeri

BARAMULLA, DECEMBER 28: A potential security threat was successfully neutralized in the Zogiyar area of Baramulla during the late night hours after a rusted grenade was discovered. The explosive was spotted within the jurisdiction of Police Station Sheeri, prompting an immediate response from local law enforcement.

Upon reaching the site, the Sheeri Police quickly cordoned off the area and established a safety perimeter to protect the local residents from any accidental detonation.The Baramulla Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was promptly summoned to the scene to handle the volatile object. Following established safety protocols, the specialized team successfully carried out a controlled demolition, safely defusing the rusted grenade without any injury or damage to property.

While the origin of the explosive is yet to be determined, authorities have declared the area secure. Local police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or metallic objects found in the fields or near residential zones immediately.
