Baramulla Anti-Drug Drive: Police Seize Vehicle and Arrest Peddler with Contraband in Kunzer

BARAMULLA, Feb 21: In a continued crackdown on the narcotics trade, the Baramulla Police successfully foiled a drug trafficking attempt at a high-security checkpoint on Saturday.

During a routine operation at Dhobiwan Crossing, a police team intercepted a Tavera vehicle (registration number JK01BD-2547) traveling through the area. Upon searching the vehicle, officers recovered approximately 28 grams of a substance suspected to be charas from the driver, identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, a resident of Hardu Aboora.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody, and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was seized by the authorities.Following the arrest, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 15/2026 at the Kunzer Police Station under the relevant sections of the law.

As investigations continue to trace the source and intended destination of the contraband, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to purging society of the drug menace.

Officials have urged the general public to remain vigilant and proactively share any information regarding suspicious activities to help sustain the momentum of this anti-drug campaign.
