Bandipora DPEO Launches SVEEP Awareness Campaign for Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision
BANDIPORA, April 04, 2026: In a proactive move to ensure 100% voter enrollment, the District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) of Bandipora, Indu Kanwal Chib, flagged off a specialized awareness vehicle today to mobilize citizens for the ongoing Summary Revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll.
Operating under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, the vehicle is equipped with public address systems and informational banners to traverse the district, educating residents on eligibility and the registration process.
With April 1, 2026, set as the qualifying date, the DPEO emphasized that this campaign is vital for creating an error-free and inclusive electoral roll, specifically targeting first-time voters to strengthen the democratic fabric at the grassroots level.
To streamline the revision process, the administration has deployed a robust field network where Block Development Officers (BDOs) will serve as Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, supported by VLEs and Gram Rozgar Sevaks acting as Polling Booth Level Officers.
To maximize public convenience, eight special camps will be held on Saturdays and Sundays at every polling station across Bandipora. Citizens are encouraged to inspect the Panchayat Electoral Rolls, which are now available at all Panchayats, and submit any claims or objections by the deadline of April 29, 2026.
The flag-off ceremony saw the participation of senior district officials, including the ACD and ACP, all working toward the goal of ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind in the upcoming electoral cycle.
