Assam Rifles Seizes Heroin Worth ₹9.21 Lakhs in Mizoram; One Individual Apprehended in Siaha District
SIAHA, February 25, 2026 — In a successful anti-narcotics operation, the Assam Rifles recovered 12.28 grams of Heroin No. 4, valued at approximately ₹9.21 lakhs, in the General Area Council Vaih of Siaha District, Mizoram.
The operation, conducted on February 23, 2026, led to the apprehension of an Indian national suspected of involvement in the smuggling attempt. Following the seizure, the apprehended individual and the recovered contraband were promptly handed over to the Excise & Narcotics Department in Siaha for further legal proceedings and investigation.
This latest crackdown highlights the persistent efforts of the Assam Rifles to curb the flow of illegal drugs across the border and maintain regional security.
