Assam Rifles Hosts Multi-Specialty Medical Camp to Boost Healthcare in Remote Arunachal Pradesh

KHONSA, March 24, 2026 — In a major push to deliver specialized healthcare to the doorstep of remote border communities, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles has launched a comprehensive five-day Multi-Specialty Medical Camp at the Zonal General Hospital in Khonsa.

Running from March 23 to March 27, 2026, the initiative is specifically designed to provide high-quality medical consultations to the residents of the Tirap and Longding districts.

The camp was officially inaugurated yesterday by the Commandant of the Khonsa Battalion, alongside key local figures including District Medical Superintendent Dr. Tumli Basar, District Medical Officer Dr. Ratan, BJP President Lankham Wangsu, and ZPC John Matey, marking a collaborative effort between the military and civil health authorities.

This healthcare drive features a robust team of specialist doctors offering expert consultations across a wide array of disciplines, including Orthopaedics, General Medicine, Paediatrics, ENT, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Gynaecology, and Dermatology.

By bridging the gap between isolated villages and specialized medical expertise, the Assam Rifles aims to ensure that no resident is left behind due to geographical barriers.

This mission, conducted in coordination with local medical departments, underscores the force’s commitment to the welfare of the people in Arunachal Pradesh, providing essential diagnostic and treatment services to hundreds of families in the region.
