Assam Rifles Honors Ex-Servicemen at Veterans Day Celebration in Shillong

SHILLONG, MARCH 30: Assam Rifles organized a grand Veterans Day celebration today in Shillong, Meghalaya, to reconnect with its former personnel and strengthen the enduring bonds of the “Sentinels of the Northeast.” The event, held on March 30, 2026, served as a tribute to the invaluable contributions made by veterans to the nation’s security during the prime of their lives.

Attended by over 100 veterans and their families, the occasion was graced by Director General Assam Rifles, Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, who served as the Chief Guest.

During the gathering, the Director General interacted warmly with the ex-servicemen and their kin, expressing deep gratitude for their lifelong service and unwavering dedication to the force and the country.
