Assam Rifles Concludes Intensive Rock Craft Training in Mizoram to Boost High-Altitude Combat Readiness
VAPHAI, April 4, 2026 — Under the aegis of the Spear Corps, the Assam Rifles successfully concluded a rigorous Rock Craft Training programme today in Vaphai, Mizoram, designed to sharpen the operational capabilities of troops in challenging mountainous landscapes.
Spanning from March 16 to April 04, 2026, the intensive course focused on mastering essential high-angle techniques, including rappelling, rock climbing, and advanced rope maneuvers, which are critical for navigating the region’s rugged and unforgiving terrain.
Beyond tactical movement, the training emphasized life-saving casualty evacuation procedures, ensuring that the “Sentinels of the Northeast” remain prepared for both combat and disaster relief missions in isolated areas.
By successfully navigating the “Where Rocks Test Resolve” curriculum, the participating troops have significantly enhanced their physical endurance and technical proficiency, reaffirming the force’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the difficult geographical borders of Northeast India.
