Assam Rifles and DRI Seize Heroin Worth ₹3.2 Crore in Cachar District

CACHAR, ASSAM | February 13, 2026 — In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) successfully intercepted a massive drug shipment in Assam’s Cachar District on February 11, 2026.

Acting on specific intelligence regarding the movement of contraband, the joint task force launched a strategic operation that led to the apprehension of two individuals and the recovery of heroin valued at approximately ₹3.2 crores.

Alongside the high-value narcotics, security forces confiscated a Mahindra Bolero vehicle used for transport and a mobile device from the suspects’ possession.

Both the apprehended individuals and the seized items have been handed over to local authorities as a comprehensive investigation continues to uncover the wider trafficking network.
