ARTO Rajouri Conducts Road Safety Awareness Drive for New Drivers at Nowshera

RAJOURI, Jan 3: As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, organized a comprehensive sensitization session today for driving license aspirants at the Nowshera Trial Ground.

The initiative aimed to integrate safety education into the very beginning of a driver’s journey, ensuring that new motorists prioritize responsible behavior on the road. Gupta personally briefed the candidates on the critical “Golden Rules” of road safety, emphasizing that a driving license is a significant responsibility that impacts the lives of pedestrians and other commuters alike.

During the session, the ARTO highlighted three primary risk factors: over-speeding, the dangerous use of mobile phones while driving, and the non-use of helmets or seatbelts. He urged the aspirants to move beyond merely passing the driving test and to instead adopt a disciplined mindset that includes respecting traffic signals and lane discipline.

By educating these first-time drivers at the trial stage, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) aims to create a new generation of “safety ambassadors” who can help reduce the frequency of road accidents across the Rajouri district through proactive compliance and awareness.
