Arrangements for Navratra, Dussehra & Maha Navami discussed at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 19: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today chaired a meeting of officers and civil society members to discuss arrangements for upcoming holy festivals, including Navratra, Dussehra and Maha Navami.
Detailed discussions were held on the arrangements related to security measures, provision of safe drinking water, power supply, first-aid services, sanitation, checking of rates, Fire safety measures, deployment of police personnel and the management of traffic in the town.
The stakeholder departments were asked to take advance measures for comprehensive arrangements in their respective domains. Special emphasis was placed on security arrangements to prevent any untoward incidents during the festive season.
A Committee was constituted to conduct extensive market inspection to prevent overcharging by shopkeepers. The general public was advised not to park their vehicles on the roadside.
The representatives of Shopkeepers were urged to display the approved price list of the essential commodities for the information of the general public.
The Executive Engineer PHE was directed to ensure the uninterrupted supply of drinking water, while the Xen PDD was instructed to maintain continuous power supply throughout the festival period.
To maintain the cleanliness of the town, the Municipal Council was directed to take all necessary actions. Additionally, civil society was encouraged to cooperate in keeping the town clean and presentable during the festivities. The Traffic Department was directed to deploy an adequate number of traffic personnel to prevent congestion during the festival.
