Army Medical Corps 262nd Anniversary: DGAFMS Flags Off High-Energy Walkathon at Cariappa Parade Ground
NEW DELHI March 30, 2026:- In a vibrant display of health and unity, the 422 Field Hospital, under the aegis of the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), organized a massive Walkathon on March 29, 2026, to commemorate the 262nd Army Medical Corps (AMC) Day.
Centered on the powerful theme, “One Health. One Force. 262 Years Strong,” the event was officially flagged off by Surg VAdm Arti Sarin, DGAFMS, at the iconic Cariappa Parade Ground.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished leadership, including the Directors General of Medical Services for the Army, Navy, and Air Force, as well as the DCIDS (Med), marking a significant moment of inter-service solidarity.
The walkathon witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large assembly of Medical Officers, Military Nursing Service (MNS) Officers, and their families, fostering an atmosphere of deep bonhomie and professional camaraderie within the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).
Leading the procession herself, Surg VAdm Arti Sarin championed the message “Together for Health, Stand with Science,” reinforcing the corps’ dual commitment to military readiness and medical excellence.
The event served not only as a celebration of over two centuries of dedicated service but also as a reminder of the vital role the AMC plays in maintaining the health and morale of the nation’s defenders.
