Central Command GOC-in-C Reviews Forward Readiness in High-Altitude Garhwal Sector

GARHWAL, MAR 27: Reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to the mantra of “Always ready, always ahead,” Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Central Command, conducted a high-level visit to forward locations in the Garhwal region.

The visit was primarily focused on auditing operational readiness along the sensitive high-altitude frontiers, where terrain and weather pose constant challenges. During the inspection, the Army Commander meticulously reviewed deployment dynamics and assessed the strategic preparedness of the units stationed in these rugged border areas.

While interacting with troops at the forward posts, Lt Gen Sengupta lauded the soldiers for their unwavering resilience and professionalism while operating in some of the world’s most demanding environmental conditions.

He specifically commended the “Surya Command” personnel for their adept employment of modern weaponry and evolving tactical techniques, which have significantly bolstered the force’s combat capability.

By focusing on the integration of advanced technology with traditional mountain warfare skills, the Commander ensured that the troops remain a formidable deterrent in the extreme high-altitude landscape.
