NORTH KASHMIR, January 10, 2026: Northern Army Commander Pratik Sharma conducted a comprehensive security review today, visiting front-line formations and units deployed along the Line of Control (LoC) and within the hinterland of North Kashmir.
During the visit, ground commanders provided detailed briefings on the current counter-infiltration grid and the strategic security measures implemented to maintain dominance over the operational space.
Sharma emphasized that maintaining a robust intelligence network and ensuring seamless coordination with sister security agencies are critical components for providing a swift and effective response to any emerging security threats in the region.
In addition to operational reviews, the Army Commander visited the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg. There, he evaluated specialized training programs, focusing specifically on how technology and modern innovation are being integrated to enhance the tactical skills of personnel.
By prioritizing technological advancement alongside traditional warfare techniques, Sharma underscored the military’s commitment to evolving its capabilities in challenging high-altitude terrains.
The visit reinforces the Indian Army’s proactive stance in securing the border while simultaneously modernizing its training infrastructure for future readiness.
