ANTF Jammu Busts Interstate Drug Syndicate: 9kg Charas Seized and Two Arrested

JAMMU, January 30, 2026 — In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Jammu successfully intercepted a massive shipment of contraband, recovering approximately 8.47 KGs of Charas.

Acting on precise intelligence, the ANTF team intercepted a Santro car (registration No. DL10CA 9852) at the Environmental Park on the Sidhra-Narwal Bypass as it was traveling from Kashmir toward destinations outside the Union Territory.

The operation led to the immediate arrest of two interstate smugglers identified as Gurmeet Singh and his female associate, Parvinder Kour, both residents of Miran Saheb, RS Pura.

Following the seizure, Police Station ANTF Jammu registered a formal case under FIR No. 01/2026, invoking sections 8, 20, and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Preliminary investigations suggest the duo was part of a sophisticated interstate network specialized in transporting high-grade narcotics from the Kashmir Valley to various Indian states.

The ANTF is currently conducting an intensive follow-up investigation to identify backward and forward linkages, aiming to dismantle the entire supply chain and trace the ultimate source of the contraband.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to a “Drug-Free Jammu & Kashmir” and urged the public to continue providing tips to help eradicate the drug menace from the region.
