AMRITSAR, Feb 11, 2026 — In a major breakthrough for national security, the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, has successfully dismantled a Pakistan-backed terror module, foiling a potential large-scale attack.
During a high-stakes, intelligence-led operation, security forces arrested one operative and recovered a lethal arsenal, including a remote-controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED), a foreign-made pistol, and live ammunition. The timely intervention has averted a significant threat aimed at destabilizing the peace across North India.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused was in constant communication with a Pakistan-based handler via encrypted messaging platforms. The terror consignment, containing the explosive device, was reportedly pushed across the border and retrieved by the operative from a pre-arranged location on the outskirts of Amritsar.
According to the Punjab Police, the IED was intended for targeted attacks across multiple states, including high-profile locations in Punjab and Delhi.
A formal FIR has been registered at the SSOC Police Station, and intensive investigations are currently underway to trace the network’s broader connections and dismantle its remaining infrastructure.
