NEW DELHI, February 6, 2026 — Air India, India’s leading global airline, has officially unveiled ‘The Maharaja Lounge’, its first flagship premium facility at Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 3, setting a new benchmark for luxury travel and Indian hospitality.
Designed by the renowned global studio Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), the 16,000-square-foot lounge accommodates up to 300 guests and harmonizes heritage-inspired aesthetics with modern sophistication, serving as the blueprint for future international lounges in cities like San Francisco and New York. Starting February 16, 2026, the lounge will be accessible to Business and First Class passengers, Gold and Platinum Maharaja Club members, and eligible Star Alliance travelers, featuring specialized zones such as The Aviator’s Bar—which pays homage to J.R.D. Tata’s 1932 flight—the tranquil Globetrotter’s Study, and exclusive Sleep Suites for First Class guests.
This milestone launch, part of Air India’s broader transformation strategy, offers a seamless “wine and dine” experience with panoramic tarmac views, ensuring that the airline’s commitment to a world-class passenger journey begins long before takeoff.
