Air India Deploys Widebody Aircraft to Jeddah and Dubai Amid Middle East Crisis
NEW DELHI, March 03, 2026 — Air India has announced the strategic deployment of high-capacity widebody aircraft on its routes to Jeddah and Dubai on March 3 and 4 to assist passengers affected by the escalating situation in the Middle East.
As part of this emergency scheduling, a Boeing 777 featuring nearly 350 seats departed Mumbai for Jeddah this evening, followed by a Boeing 787-9 with approximately 300 seats slated to leave Delhi for Dubai tonight.
A third mission involving a Boeing 787-8 with over 250 seats is scheduled to operate from Mumbai to Dubai in the early hours of March 4.The airline anticipates that all return flights will operate at maximum capacity on March 4, arriving back in Mumbai and Delhi to facilitate the safe return of travelers.
Air India stated it is maintaining a close watch on the evolving regional developments and emphasized its unwavering commitment to the safety and care of its passengers and crew during this period.
These additional operations are specifically designed to provide relief and extra seating capacity for those impacted by the ongoing regional instability.
