Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Khajuria said that Shri Mata Vaishno Devi is a symbol of our faith, and our religious sentiments are connected with it. Every year, lakhs of devotees from India and abroad visit the temple with their families to offer prayers. Every year, offerings worth crores of rupees, including gold and silver ornaments, are donated.
With these offerings, the Shrine Board runs Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital.Devotees were very pleased that the Shrine Board was making good use of their offerings, because a country with good education and health services certainly progresses, and everyone knows the condition of countries where these services are lacking.Khajuria further said that the students whose names have appeared in the merit list of Narayana Hospital are not at fault, but to ensure that in the future devotees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi do not feel hurt, they request the Shrine Board Katra to give admission only to Sanatani students. This, he said, is also the voice of the country.
He further added that the present government of Jammu & Kashmir has not fulfilled the promises it made before the elections, even after one year. Families who lost their land and became homeless due to natural calamities are still forced to live in tents during the winter season.
The government’s attitude toward these families is worrying, and this is eroding the public’s trust in the government, leading to rising public anger. He said that increasing public anger could lead to a law-and-order situation in the region, and the government must address this.Pawan Khajuria also said that Pakistan is not giving up its malicious intentions, and some people in the country are acting on their directions, trying to harm the public with their misguided thinking.
He warned such elements that the central government and the Indian army are capable of giving a strong response, and that the people of the country are united. Mischievous elements should not remain under any illusion. He also appealed to the public to stay alert, help each other, and remain aware of the situation around them.
