JAMMU | January 10, 2026Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police (Armed) J&K, chaired a high-level preparatory meeting at the Armed Police Headquarters (APHQ) in Jammu to finalize arrangements for the upcoming Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament (MMHT) 2025–26.
Scheduled to take place from February 1 to February 5, 2026, the tournament is a flagship initiative organized under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. During the session, Jain conducted a comprehensive review of the logistics required to host the prestigious event, emphasizing the importance of honoring the supreme sacrifices of martyrs through high-caliber sportsmanship and community engagement.
The meeting involved detailed deliberations on essential services, including team accommodation, boarding, medical facilities, and traffic management.
Jain issued strict directives to the concerned officers to ensure robust security deployments and efficient crowd control to provide a safe and comfortable environment for players, officials, and spectators alike.
He stressed the necessity of inter-departmental coordination and adherence to timelines to ensure all arrangements are perfected well before the opening whistle.Beyond the competitive aspect, the Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament serves as a vital platform for nurturing local sporting talent and strengthening police-public relations across the Union Territory.
The meeting saw attendance from senior officials, including Vinod Kumar (DIG IR Jammu), Sameer Sharma (DIG AP Jammu), and various Commandants of Jammu-based Battalions, alongside representatives from Hockey J&K. Together, they reaffirmed their commitment to making the 2026 edition a successful tribute to the fallen heroes of the force.
