Udhampur, November 04:Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking and proceeds of narcotics crime, Udhampur Police has attached another property worth ₹50 lakh belonging to a drug peddler under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
During the course of investigation in Case FIR No. 258/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Udhampur, it came to light that the accused Amit Singh S/o Kuldeep Singh R/o Sounthan, Tehsil & District Udhampur had acquired one residential house with land (Khasra No. 07) situated at village Preyan Sounthan and one KTM Duke motorcycle bearing registration number JK14K-3278 from proceeds of narcotics trade.
On the basis of material evidence and the investigation conducted, the Investigating Officer had reason to believe that the said properties were acquired from illicit narco-trade earnings. Accordingly, the said movable and immovable properties were attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act for further legal proceedings.
The value of the attached house, land and vehicle is ₹50 lakh.It is pertinent to mention that Udhampur Police has attached property worth ₹10.50 Crore in NDPS-related cases during the current year, reaffirming its firm resolve to make Udhampur a Drugs-Free District.
