SSP Poonch Leads ‘Run for Unity’ to Mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Poonch, October 31 :- As part of the nationwide celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, District Police Poonch today organised a vibrant “Run for Unity” to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India and architect of national integration.

The event witnessed overwhelming participation from citizens, students, NCC cadets, police personnel, and youth from various institutions. The run was flagged off from DAV Public School (near SK Bridge on Jhullas Road) and culminated at Sports Stadium Poonch, spreading the message of unity, integrity, and national solidarity.

Shafket Hussain, JKPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch led the event, accompanied by senior police officers and personnel of District Police Poonch. Ashok Kumar Sharma, JKAS, Deputy Commissioner Poonch also joined the event and appreciated the initiative of District Police in promoting the ideals of national unity and harmony among the citizens.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Poonch highlighted the vision of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in uniting the nation and urged the youth to uphold the values of peace, brotherhood, and national integration. He further emphasized the need for collective responsibility in maintaining unity and strengthening the fabric of the nation.

District Police Poonch expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, educational institutions, and members of the public for their enthusiastic involvement, which made the event a grand success and a befitting tribute to the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
