Kathua, 31 October :- In commemoration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, IRP-19th Bn, Kathua organized a “Run for Unity” at Bn. Hqrs. today to mark the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas-2025 (National Unity Day).
The run was flagged off by Atul Sharma-JKPS, Commandant IRP-19th Bn. at 0700 hours from Bn. Hqrs. to Badala-Jeetpur road and back to Bn. Hqrs after covering a distance of about 05 Kms. A large number of police personnel from the Unit enthusiastically participated in the run, showcasing their commitment to unity, discipline, and national integration. Refreshments were also provided to the participants after the run.
Following the run, a Pledge Taking Ceremony and March Past were held at Bn. Hqrs. in which Ravinder Singh-SP, Dy. Commandant took the salute and administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge to all police personnel, reaffirming their resolve to uphold the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. Inspr. Showkat Ahmad, Parade Commander, gave word of command and conducted spectacular march past immediately after the pledge taking ceremony ended.
Towards the end of the grand function, Dy. Commandant highlighted the significance of the pledge, stating that all officials have solemnly pledged to dedicate themselves to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation, and to strive hard to spread this message among fellow countrymen. He added that this spirit of unification was made possible through the vision and actions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The event concluded with patriotic fervor and a renewed sense of national pride among all ranks of the Unit.
