Flag-off by DIG JSK Range & SSP Jammu: 93 students from Jammu begin their Bharat Darshan tour to explore India’s heritage

Jammu, October 2, 2025: In a spirited initiative aimed at providing exposure and broadening the horizons of young minds, a group of 93 students, including 04 caretakers, from District Jammu and Police Public School, Miran Sahib was flagged off today at 4:00 PM from GOs Mess, Jammu, for a Bharat Darshan Tour.

The tour will cover major cities including Delhi and Mumbai, offering participants an enriching opportunity to witness India’s cultural diversity and heritage firsthand.

The flag-off ceremony was jointly conducted by DIG JSK Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, and SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, JKPS, along with the Bharat Darshan team members of Zonal Police Headquarters (ZPHQ) Jammu. The officers interacted warmly with the students, encouraged them to make the most of the journey, and highlighted the significance of such initiatives in building confidence and national integration.

During the interaction, the senior officers emphasized that Bharat Darshan tours are more than just educational excursions. They serve as a bridge between different regions of the country, instilling in young participants a deep sense of pride, responsibility, and belonging to the larger Indian identity. By visiting iconic landmarks, institutions, and cultural centres, the students will gain invaluable knowledge about India’s growth, diversity, and unity.

The officers further reminded the students that they are cultural ambassadors of Jammu & Kashmir during this journey. They urged them to carry the message of peace, harmony, and brotherhood while also imbibing positive experiences and lessons from the cities they will visit. Such exposure, they said, will inspire the students to aim high in their academic and professional lives and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s progress.

The students, brimming with enthusiasm, expressed their gratitude to the Jammu and Kashmir Police for providing them with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Parents and guardians accompanying them during the flag-off expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that such programmes play a vital role in shaping the personalities of children from remote and underprivileged areas.
