1 Lakh 37 Thousand Metric Tons of fresh fruits despatched from valley via National Highway, Mughal Road & Train Parcel Service in last ten days: Div Com Kashmir Anshul Garg

Srinagar 22 September :- Anshul Garg Divisional Commissioner Kashmir addressed an Press Conference here today.

While addressing the Media Persons Anshul Garg said that 1.37 lakh metric tons of fresh fruits have been dispatched from the Valley in the last ten days through National Highway, Mughal Road and parcel train service. “”Around 1,500-2,000 fruit trucks accumulate in the Valley every day. These are being diverted to Jammu via the National Highway and the Mughal Road,” Anshul Garg said, adding that the traffic police are constantly monitoring the situation on the ground.

Vehicle traffic has significantly increased as a result of the highway’s ongoing restoration work, he said. 3,500–4,000 trucks are currently playing , compared to the 1,500–2,000 vehicles that used to do so every day. About 2,000 trucks departed Qazigund for Jammu today alone, and they should arrive there by the evening, he said.He further mentioned that yesterday, more than 1,800 to 1,900 trucks traveled towards Jammu via Mughal Road in order to expedite the evacuation of fruits and allay farmers’ worries.

Additionally, he added that the recently launched package train service between Anantnag and Baramulla and Adarsh Nagar, New Delhi, is already running. Every day, between 800 and 1000 tons of fresh fruits are dispatched using this service. The process has begun, he said, adding that farmers from both north and south Kashmir may now directly take advantage of the facility to comfortably transport their goods.

Regarding necessities, Garg stated that the Valley does not lack food, consumer goods, gasoline, diesel, or LPG. “We have enough food and fuel for a whole week. Regular stock replenishments will be made. He remarked, “People are asked not to fall for rumors or engage in panic buying. He went on to say that the buffer stock of necessities will rise even more in the days ahead as long as the weather stays consistent and the highway restoration project proceeds.
