Punjab Police Busts Foreign-Based Terror Module in SBS Nagar
SBS NAGAR, August 10, 2026 – Counter Intelligence Jalandhar and SBS Nagar Police have busted a Babbar Khalsa International terror module sponsored by Pakistan’s ISI, foiling a planned attack in the region.Authorities arrested a key operative of the module, which was being run by handlers based abroad.
During the operation, security forces recovered an 86-P hand grenade from the suspect’s possession. Preliminary investigations indicate that the arrested operative retrieved the explosive device from a drain near Adampur in Jalandhar following direct instructions from his overseas handlers.
An official case has been registered at Sadar Nawanshahr Police Station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Explosive Substances Act. Law enforcement agencies are conducting further investigations to trace the complete operational network, identify the foreign handlers, and uncover local support structures as well as forward and backward linkages.
